MAY 6, 2026 – Croatia Airlines has introduced a new seasonal international route connecting Split with the French city of Nantes, further strengthening Croatia’s air links with Western Europe.
The first flight touched down in Nantes today.
We’re proud to celebrate the first flight from Nantes to Split! A big thank you to Aéroport Nantes-Atlantique for the warm welcome of Croatia Airlines. This new connection brings our regions closer together and opens up exciting opportunities for travel, tourism and business. We look forward to seeing this route grow over the coming months and to welcoming many passengers on board,” Croatia Airlines said.
The route will operate from 5 May to 9 October 2026, with flights scheduled twice weekly, on Tuesdays and Fridays.
The addition is expected to improve accessibility between the Dalmatian coast and western France during the busy summer travel period.
Croatia Airlines noted that the timing of the launch carries symbolic importance. The early May start coincides with the anniversary of the airline’s first domestic flight between Zagreb and Split, marking a milestone in its history.
The airline emphasised that the new route reflects its ongoing commitment to expanding its European network while honouring its heritage.
By introducing new international connections, Croatia Airlines aims to support tourism growth and strengthen Croatia’s position as a key Mediterranean destination.
Nantes is the sixth largest city in France, located in the west on the Loire River. The city has a population of around 320,000 people within Nantes itself, while the wider metropolitan area has over 600,000 residents and is known for a mix of history, culture and modern creativity.
The Split–Nantes service is set to provide both leisure and business travellers with more convenient travel options, while contributing to increased visitor flows between Croatia and France during the 2026 season.
