Croatia Aim to Inflict Pain on Spain in Bronze Medal Showdown

BASKET-EURO-2013-ESP-CROCroatia will face Spain on Sunday in the bronze medal match at the 2013 EuroBasket after going down to Lithuania on Friday in Slovenia 77:62. Croatia’s captain Roko Ukić says that despite everyone being down in the dressing room after last night’s loss, they will be ready for Sunday’s match.

“Today they were simply the better team in all facests, they need to be congratulated for that. We are left now to prepare for Sunday and to cap off this nice story in an equally nice way. None of us have ever in our careers played such an important match, a match for a medal, there is a first time for everything,” said Ukić after last night’s loss.

“We must find the will, power and energy to play till the end and win a medal,” said player Damjan Rudež. Croatia’s opponents on Sunday Spain lost to France in the other semi final 75:72.
