Croatia ’98 World Cup Bronze Winners to Reunite for Match v Priests

croatia2Croatia’s famous 1998 World Cup side that finished 3rd in France will reunite for a humanitarian football match against Croatian priests national side…

On Tuesday 26 May in the central town of Sisak, bronze-winning coach Miroslav Ćiro Blažević will lead his 1998 side against Croatia’s priest national side. Although a few players from that successful campaign in France are unavailable due to work commitments, those confirmed include Golden Boot from France ’98 Davor Šuker, Igor Štimac, Dario Šimić, Goran Vlaović, Kruno Jurčić and goal keeper Dražen Ladić. Former Croatia captain and current coach Niko Kovač will also play with brother Robert.

The match will kick off at 17:00 at Gradski stadium in Sisak.
