Croatia 2 : 0 Wales


Croatia have comfortably beaten Wales 2-0 in their World Cup qualifying match which was played in Osijek, Croatia in front of 17,000 fans tonight.

Croatia dominated possession and had countless chances, peppering the Welsh goal all night. Mario Mandzukic and Eduardo da Silva scored either side of half-time to give Igor Stimac’s side an important 3 points.

Stimac, the first Croatian coach in the last 10 years to lead a side at Gradski Vrt Stadium in the eastern Croatian city of Osijek, was delighted with his side’s performance.

“As coach I just want to say to the players ‘thank-you’, for sticking to our plan and delivering everything we talked about ,” Stimac told Croatian radiotelevision after the match.
