Croat Missing In Taiwan

A 50-year-old seaman from the Dalmatian town of Sibenik in Croatia has gone missing from the freight ship he was working on some 60 miles from Taiwan. The ship was heading towards the Chinese port of Fuzhou.

The Croat was last seen on Tuesday evening, and when he did not report for duty to captain the ship at 9am the following morning officers raised the alarm and search parties were sent out for the man.

Officials from the freight ship “Maja” which the man was working on have been in contact with his family. Some reports suggest that it is thought he may have fell over board by accident.
