The games will be the biggest multi-sport event hosted in Croatia ever with more than 5,000 students from 250 universities in 45 countries taking part. Organised by the European University Sports Association (EUSA), students will take part in 21 sports, including badminton, bridge, golf, judo, karate, basketball, football, futsal, volleyball, rugby 7s, handball, climbing, table tennis, tennis, chess, taekwondo and waterpolo.
This will be the 3rd edition of the European Universities Games, with the first two being held in Cordoba in 2012 and Rotterdam in 2014. The games in Zagreb and Rijeka will be held from 12 – 26 July 2016.
