CNN Article: Croatia Had “Friends In The Right Places” To Join EU

CNN have published an article on their website titled “Did Croatia get lucky on EU membership”, quoting a South East European politics senior researcher at the London School of Economics saying that Croatia “got lucky” and its membership was down to having “friends in the right places”.

The researcher, James Ker-Lindsay, also states in the article that he believes some EU member states are turning a “blind eye” to a number of Croatia’s problems in favour of the political symbolism that enlargement in the Western Balkans represents.
