ZAGREB, 15 September 2026 – The colourful world of insects will take over Arena Zagreb next summer when Cirque du Soleil brings its acclaimed production OVO back to the Croatian capital.

The spectacular show will be performed from 3 to 6 June 2027, marking the return of OVO to Zagreb 15 years after it was first presented in the city, organisers said.

Created around the fascinating world of insects, OVO, Portuguese for “egg”, combines acrobatics, music, colourful characters and elaborate costumes. The production has now been refreshed following months of work, with new scenery, new acrobatic acts, redesigned costumes, original characters and a new musical interpretation.

The updated production features 53 acrobats and musicians, forming part of a cast and crew of 100 people representing 25 different countries.

Among the performances are powerful crickets jumping on trampolines and a mesmerising spider contorting its body inside its own web. The production uses the insect world as a setting for a story described as playful, humorous and chaotic, while showcasing a range of demanding acrobatic disciplines.

Since its premiere in Montreal in 2009, OVO has been seen by more than 7 million people in 40 countries, reaching audiences across Europe, the Middle East and Egypt.
