ZAGREB, 11 August 2020 – Five months after the closure due to the coronavirus pandemic, Blitz-CineStar multiplex cinemas in Croatia will reopen ion Thursday, August 20.

Capacity in the movie theatres will be limited, and the online ticket and box office system will automatically block the sale of one seat between two different groups of visitors.

Visitors who want and buy tickets together will be able to sit together but will be separated by an empty seat left and right from other movie-goers – the statement said.

CineStar will also increase gaps between the beginnings and endings of films, in order to reduce the number of potential visitors in the lobbies, where the recommended physical distance is 1.5 meters.

According to the statement, the largest domestic cinema in Croatia will finally open its theatres after the Croatian Institute of Public Health, in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture and Media and Blitz-Cinestar, prepared appropriate recommendations for multiplex cinema operations that put the safety of visitors and employees first.

Cinemas will be open with all the necessary measures aimed at protecting the health of employees and visitors to the cinema, which means the implementation of disinfection and the establishment of new hygiene standards.

The planned measures are supplemented by the latest recommendations of the Croatian Institute of Public Health for cinema screening.
