Changes For Wales – Simunic And Kranjcar Out

Croatia football coach Igor Stimac will be forced into making changes from the side that beat Serbia in Zagreb on Friday night when they take on Wales in Swansea tomorrow in another World Cup qualifier.

Croatia’s experienced defender Joe Simunic and midfielder Niko Kranjcar both pulled up injured after Friday’s 2:0 win and will not play against Wales, but Stimac says even more changes are likely.

“We will make three changes from the match against Serbia,” said Stimac before the team flew out from Zagreb on Monday morning.

“Some of the changes are because of injury, and some are just to freshen up the side,’ said assistant Alen Boksic. Reports suggest that Croatia’s Brazilian-born midfielder Sammir will start for the very first time for Croatia on Tuesday night. Croatia are currently equal top of Group A with Belgium with 13 points.
