ZAGREB, 25 February 2023 – Greyp Bikes, a technology company for the development and production of the world’s first connected electric bikes founded by Croatian entrepreneur Mate Rimac, has fully integrated into Porsche’s unique Porsche eBike Performance ecosystem.

Rimac, who is also the founder of Rimac Automobili, started the Podest company back in 2008 which was intended for designing and developming electric bicycles. Five years later he renamed it Greyp Bikes and repurposed it “for the production of electric two-wheelers”.

Porsche has held a stake of around ten percent in Greyp via Porsche Ventures since 2018. The initial stake was acquired at the same time as the investment in Rimac Automobili.

In November 2021, Porsche acquired a majority stake in the company of 61 percent, while Mate Rimac, his designer Adriano Mudri and the company itself through the Greyp ESOP have minority shares.

Seven months have passed since Porsche eBike Performance was established. The FAZUA and Greyp brand units have been integrated under a shared umbrella, creating an opportunity to hone their profile, define synergies and successfully implement them in seminal projects, and now Greyp have officially changed the company name to Porsche eBike Performance d.o.o.

With this, the integration is officially completed, and the business structure consists of the German Porsche eBike Performance GmbH located in Ottobrunn, near Munich, and the Croatian Porsche eBike Performance d.o.o. with a location in Sveta Nedelja, near Zagreb.

This means that in addition to compact drive systems from FAZUA, Porsche eBike Performance GmbH will, backed with innovative software and connectivity from Greyp, develop and produce particularly powerful eBike drive systems under the Porsche brand name.

Porsche eBike Performance will continue to transform mobility by developing innovative, high performance electrical solutions for the e-bike market and they are currently looking for new talent and actively recruiting.
