Bojan Bogdanović Becomes First Croat in 12 Years to Play in NBA All-Star Weekend

Bogdanović (25), who is averaging 7.4 points and 2.5 rebounds in 22.6 minutes per game in 43 games (27 starts) in his rookie NBA season, was selected to play in the showcase of the NBA season. Bogdanović is in the World team which will play the Rising Stars game. The game will feature the league’s premier young talent, pitting 10 first- and second-year NBA players from the United States against 10 first- and second-year NBA players from around the world. The game will be played on 13 February at New York’s Barclays Center.

The last time a Croatian played at the All-Star weekend was back in 2003 when Orlando Magic’s Gordon Giriček was involved. Bogdanović will be the second Croatian involved this year – Atlanta Hawks coach Neven Spahija will assist the Eastern Conference team.
