Blow For First Home Buyers In Croatia

The Croatian government have dealt a blow to wanna-be first time home owners. Daily newspaper Vecernji list reports that the Ministry of Finance are to axe tax reliefs for first time home buyers.

According to the Ministry, they say that there is no need to continue with the tax break for first time home buyers because the number of people making the most of the benefit has now dropped to around 10,000 a year. The Ministry plans to still keep the tax relief for agricultural land buyers. Media also reports that property sales tax may also reduce from 5% to 3%.
