Black September: 473 People Jobless a Day in Croatia

During the month of September 473 people were left jobless per day, according to statistics released from the Croatian Employment Service. The month ended with 311,047 registered unemployed, 9,464 more than in August.

The increase in the number of registered unemployed largely has come about with the end of the tourist season, also a large number of students who have completed their education in the summer have now joined the doll que. Economists predict that the unemployment rate could hit as high as 19.5 per cent in 2013.

It is forecast that a further 25,000 people could be jobless by the end of 2012, reports daily newspaper Jutarnji list.
