Bizarre Situation as Croatian Coach to Face Own Team in Cup Tie

CroatiaCroatian football coach Stjepan Benić could be creating football history on 9 March when the two sides that he coaches meet in a county cup tie…

Benić is in charge of Croatian 3rd division side NK Karlovac 1919, but he also coaches at the same time Petrova Gora, a side in the local Karlovac 2nd division. Benić’s main focus is obviously NK Karlovac, but manages to juggle both jobs as Petrova Gora play on Sunday’s and he only turns up to trainings once a week, writes kaportal.

Benić will have a dilemma on 9 March however after the draw for the local Karlovac Cup was made and NK Karlovac 1919 and Petrova Gora drew each other. Benić may have to sit in each dugout for 45 minutes each, in what could be a world’s first in football.
