Bilic Under Pressure In Russia

The pressure is mounting on former Croatia coach Slaven Bilic who is currently in charge of Russian first division side Lokomotiv Moscow.

The honeymoon seems to be over for Bilic and his posse of Croatian support staff at the Russian club after a string of bad results. Lokomotiv is currently in 8th place in the league and has just been knocked out of the cup in Russia and the fans have started to turn on the former Everton and West Ham centre-back.

“Slaven Bilic has destroyed Lokomotiv”, read one headline in Russian press. “Why is Lokomotiv a lost cause? Ask Bilic. It would be better if a Russian club had a Russian trainer, and not an expensive foreigner like Bilic who has destroyed the club,” said the article.

Time will tell how long Bilic survives the cut-throat business of club football.
