A 46-year-old Turkish and 26-year-old German national, in a German registered VW Caddy, were stopped by customs officials on Monday and when the vehicle was searched customs officials found 140 kilograms of heroin hidden in the combi.
The drugs were packed in 261 separate packets and have a street value of over 5.5 million euros. The bust was the biggest at the border crossing in the last 10 years, police said at a press conference on Tuesday.
