Best Hvar Winemaker – Hans From Germany

German wine-maker Hans Joachim Beuschel, who has lived on the Dalmatian island of Hvar for more than 40 years, has had his white wine voted as the best on the island during Hvar’s Martinje (St. Martin) celebrations.

The competition attracted 18 red wines, 2 roses and 10 white wines as guests tasted and rated the wines from the local islanders. Matko Lovrincevic won the award for the best red wine.

Beuschel moved to live on Hvar in 1970 and has a small vineyard of just a few hundred Bogdanusa and Chardonnay vines.
