Best Croatian Photojournalist Photos of the Year

nelThe best photos from Croatia’s photojournalists were awarded this week at the 2014 Croatian Photojournalist Awards…

The winner of the best photo in 2014 was Goran Mehkek from Cropix, who captured a helicopter crew above a flood zone in eastern Croatia after the region was devastated by floods in May.

Winners were also announced in 8 categories; event, everyday life, report, culture and arts, portrait, sport, nature and environment and for the first time multimedia. 1,390 photographs were narrowed down to 100 photos from which the winners were selected. Ronald Goršić, Sandra Šimunović, Goran Mehkek, Matko Biljak, Neja Markičević, Srđan Vrančić,  and Saša Kralj all picked up awards.
