Like so at so many recent Grand Slams, there will be one Croatian player featuring in a final.

Ivan Dodig will play in the mixed doubles final with his partner, Kristina Mladenovic from France.

Dodig and Mladenovic beat Zhang Shuai from China and Australian John Peers in today’s semi-final, 1-6, 7-5, 10-2 to reach the final.

The Croatian-French team will face the winner of the second semi-final which will be played between Australian pari Jaimee Fourlis and Jason Kubler and Lucie Hradecka from the Czech Republic and Gonzalo Escobar from Ecuador.

Dodig, now 37, will be aiming to win his sixth Grand Slam title and his second title at the Australian Open in a row. Dodig and Filip Polasek from Slovakia won the men’s doubles title in 2021.

Back in 2015, he won his other Grand Slam men’s doubles title with Marcelo Melo when they won the French Open.

He also has three Grand Slam mixed doubles titles after he won the French Open in 2018 and 2019 and Wimbledon also in 2019 with his Taiwanese partner Latisha Chan.
