Apple TV launches in Croatia: Price, free trial and what you can watch

Apple’s streaming service Apple TV is officially available in Croatia from today, giving users in the country direct access to the company’s growing catalogue of original series, films, documentaries and family entertainment.

The service costs €9.99 per month, while an annual subscription is available for €79. New subscribers can also take advantage of a seven-day free trial.

The Croatian launch brings a number of Apple TV’s best-known titles to local viewers, including The Studio, Ted Lasso, Severance and Widow’s Bay. The service also features Pluribus, described by Apple as its most-watched drama series.

Among the films available are CODA, which won the Academy Award for Best Picture, and F1, which also won an Oscar and became the highest-grossing sports film.

Apple TV first launched globally on 1 November 2019. Apple says its original films, documentaries and series have since collected more than 900 awards and 3,800 nominations.

The service can be accessed through the Apple TV app on iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple TV 4K, as well as on compatible smart TVs, gaming consoles, Roku and Amazon Fire TV devices and Chromecast with Google TV. It can also be watched through a web browser at tv.apple.com. Apple has also expanded the Apple TV app to Android and Windows devices.

Customers purchasing and activating a new iPhone, iPad, Apple TV 4K or Mac can receive three months of Apple TV free of charge for a limited period, subject to Apple’s offer terms.

Apple TV is launching in Croatia alongside availability in more than 100 other countries and regions, with new content added each week.

Apple has not publicly given a specific explanation for why its subscription streaming service was unavailable in Croatia for so long.

The company has historically launched its media services on a country-by-country basis. Content rights and regional requirements are also part of the picture.

With today’s launch, Croatia is now officially included in Apple’s subscription streaming market, ending a wait that began when Apple TV+ first launched almost seven years ago.
