Ante Gotovina Made Honorary Citizen Of Split

Aquitted Croatian General Ante Gotovina has been made an honorary citizen of the Dalmatian city of Split.

Split Mayor Zeljko Kerum this morning put forward the motion for vote at the start of a sitting of the Split City Council which was unanimously accepted.

One week ago today Gotovina was freed by a Hague Court after initially being sentenced to 24 years jail. Gotovina came back to a heroes welcome with more than 100,000 turning out on Zagreb’s main square.
