An American-Croatian owned company has announced a significant €2 million investment in eastern Croatia.

At its EcoCortec® plant in Beli Manastir, owned by American-Croatian entrepreneur Boris Mikšić, the foundation stone has been laid for a new logistics centre, with completion expected in October this year.

The expansion marks a new phase of growth for EcoCortec®, one of Europe’s leading manufacturers of anti-corrosion films.

The new logistics facility will cover approximately 1,500 square metres and will be integrated with the company’s existing production site in Beli Manastir. The development will create a centralised and highly efficient hub for storage and distribution.

By consolidating logistics operations in one location, the company aims to significantly optimise its supply chain, enabling faster delivery to global customers while also reducing its environmental footprint.

Most of the construction work will be carried out by Osijek-based Massa d.o.o., a long-term partner on EcoCortec projects.

Speaking at the ceremony, owner Boris Mikšić highlighted that the investment builds on two decades of success since the project began in 2005.

He emphasised that the expansion is not only a strategic business move, but also a “green investment”, with the refurbishment of existing facilities reflecting the principles of the circular economy and sustainable operations.

EcoCortec® operates in Croatia as part of the global Cortec® Corporation and exports its products worldwide, contributing to the international visibility of Croatian green technologies.

Local officials, including Beli Manastir Mayor Igor Pavelić, attended the ceremony and praised the company’s long-standing presence in the city’s industrial zone.

EcoCortec® has operated successfully in the area for more than 20 years and is widely seen as a model of cooperation between business and local government.

The recent completion of the Croatian section of Corridor 5C has provided a major boost to the region’s investment appeal.

The opening of the final stretch of motorway towards Hungary has already led to increased investor interest in the business zone, while existing companies are accelerating expansion plans.

Improved transport links have brought EcoCortec® closer to its customers, significantly enhancing delivery speed, an increasingly critical factor in global business.

Mikšić underlined that the company’s success demonstrates Croatia’s potential as a competitive location for advanced manufacturing.

He noted that while production could have been established anywhere in the world, investing in Croatia has proven to be a highly successful decision.

With continued expansion and strong export performance, companies like EcoCortec® are helping to promote Croatia as a centre for innovative and environmentally sustainable technologies on the global stage.
