Aljosa Asanovic Hoping For Overseas Managers Job

After working together for 9 years, former Croatia team mates Slaven Bilic and Aljosa Asanovic have parted ways. Asanaovic will not join Bilic at Turkish side Besikas, and the 47-year-old says it is time for him to step up and manage a club of his own after nearly a decade as an assistant.

“I spent 9 unforgettable years with a fantastic guy and the best young coach in Europe. I got priceless experience and after I recover from a nose operation I want to work on my own career, hopefully overseas,” said Asanovic to daily Jutarnji list.

The former Derby County was Bilic’s right-hand man for close to a decade, first teaming up together with the Croatian youth team from 2004 – 2006, followed by the senior Croatian side, and finally a short stint at Lokomotiv Moscow in Russia.
