Agrokor Sell 8 Konzum Stores To W.P. Carey

Are there cracks starting to appear in the empire of Croatia’s largest privately owned company. Croatian radio station Radio 101 has reported that American corporate financing firm W.P. Carey have signed another ‘sale-leaseback’ agreement with the Agrokor Group.

W.P. Carey have purchased 8 of Agrokor’s Konzum supermarkets in Croatia, worth a reported 34.6 million euro. The Konzum supermarkets which the American company purchased are located in the capital Zagreb and surrounding areas. W.P. Carey have leased back to Agrokor the supermarkets. This is the fourth ‘sale-leaseback’ deal between the two in the last three years.
