Agreement signed for multisensor aerial survey of Croatia

ZAGREB, May 8 (Hina) – A HRK 135 million grant agreement for the Multisensor Aerial Survey of the Republic of Croatia for Assessing Disaster Risk Reduction project was signed at Croatian Waters on Friday and it will enable the establishment of flood risk points.

Eighty-five percent of the cost will be financed from the EU Operational Programme Competitiveness and Cohesion 2014-2020 and the rest by the State Geodetic Administration, the City of Zagreb and Croatian Waters.

Completion is planned for 2023. The aerial survey will use the LiDAR method.

The agreement was signed, among others, by Environment and Energy Minister Tomislav Coric, who said that aside from establishing flood risk points alongside 4,100 kilometres of river embankments, the LiDAR technology would help assess the resistance of buildings in Zagreb to earthquakes.
