Dutch non-food discount retailer Action is continuing its expansion in Croatia, with the opening of its fourth store in the country on 6 August in Kaštel Sućurac, near Split.

The new outlet follows previous openings in Sesvete, Ivanec and Labin, marking another step in the company’s growing presence on the Croatian market.

Neda Vuk Salaba, General Manager of Action Croatia, told Poslovni dnevnik that the opening represents another important milestone for the company and reflects the positive response it has received since entering the Croatian market. She added that the new location will allow Action to reach more customers while strengthening its presence in the country.

Customers in Kaštel Sućurac and the surrounding area will have access to Action’s range of around 6,000 products across 14 categories, including toys, arts and crafts, household goods, gardening supplies, DIY products and food.

The retailer also introduces around 150 new products each week, while more than two-thirds of its assortment is priced below €2.

The Kaštel Sućurac store covers 804 square metres and is located at Cesta dr. Franje Tuđmana 7. It will employ 20 staff and will be open from Monday to Saturday, 8:00 am to 9:00 pm, as well as on selected Sundays from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm.

Alongside its expansion, Action says it continues to focus on sustainability and responsible sourcing. The retailer’s private-label products use 100% certified cotton, wood and cocoa from sustainable sources, while the palm oil used in its own food products and candles is also fully certified as sustainable.

The company’s short-term emissions reduction targets were validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) in 2025. Action also says its stores operate without gas heating, while all stores, offices and distribution centres are fitted with 100% LED lighting as part of its environmental strategy.

The latest opening highlights Action’s continued investment in Croatia as demand for value-focused retail continues to grow.
