New home of Croatian football taking shape in Velika Gorica

The President of the Croatian Football Federation (HNS), Marijan Kustić, joined Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Construction and State Property Branko Bačić, Minister of Sport and Tourism Tonči Glavina, Government Spokesperson Marko Milić, and Mayor of Velika Gorica Krešimir Ačkar to visit the construction site of the future Croatian Football Federation training camp in Velika Gorica this week.
They were accompanied by national team coach Zlatko Dalić, technical director Stipe Pletikosa, HNS vice-president Nenad Horvatić, executive board member Nenad Črnko, and representatives from the construction company Kamgrad.
Construction is progressing swiftly. The third floor of the administration building is currently underway, stadium stands are being installed, and preparations for the steel roof structure are set to begin soon.
On the western side of the complex, curbs and access roads are being laid, while fencing and drainage systems around the pitches are nearing completion.

Deputy Prime Minister Bačić praised the pace of the works, calling the site a “future temple of Croatian football”.

He expressed confidence that the camp would be completed on schedule, by early 2027, adding: “I look forward to the day when we celebrate another great success of Croatian football right here.”

Minister Glavina highlighted the project as a milestone for Croatian sport: “This camp will serve all national teams. It’s a shining example of how investment in sports infrastructure creates opportunities for new generations of world-class players.”
HNS President Kustić thanked the Croatian Government and UEFA for their strong support, saying the progress achieved in just six months was “incredible”.

Mayor Ačkar added that the project would place Velika Gorica firmly on the European football map, while Pletikosa described the future complex as “a proud home for future generations of Croatian footballers”.
