8 Michelin Star Worthy Restaurants on the Croatian Coast

Michelin Star Worthy Restaurants on Croatia’s Coast

by Iva Ralica

Earlier this year the first-ever restaurant in Croatia to be awarded a famous Michelin Star was announced. Monte in Rovinj met strict criteria and now is the proud owner of a Michelin Star.

The criteria it had to satisfy refers not only to serving up delicious food but also to the quality of ingredients, the preparation itself, consistency and the interior design of the restaurant.

There is only an exclusive list of dining places in the world that Michelin consider are up to these standards. A small country like Croatia does not have a wide specter of the places described, but this is only because we don´t have enough guests who would be able to visit them on a regular base.

The main reason for that is the expensive prices in accordance with the luxurious interior design these restaurants have. Still, the list of the restaurants that could live up to the standards in the gourmet criteria itself, is not a short one. A lot of the restaurants could easily make it on the list.

Here are just 8 restaurants located on the Dalmatian coast whose innovation and tradition should put them on Michelin’s radar.

1. Pelegrini

If you prefer meat, beefsteak is made with cheese to which, when the season starts, marmalade made of the local sort of cherries, is added to it.
