A dilapidated hotel in a prime location in Opatija is set to get a luxury 5-star makeover.
Hotel Belvedere, situated along the attractive seaside Lungomare promenade in Opatija, has been closed since the summer of 2017 and will re-open in the summer of 2018 after receiving a luxury transformation.
“Hotel Belvedere will open by 1 July 2018 and is set to become the first Sheraton brand hotel in Opatija,” investor Edin Delibegović told daily Jutarnji list, adding the hotel will have 5-stars.

Hotel concept
Delibegović says that Belvedere will change its name and become part of the international Sheraton franchise.
A contract has been agreed with Marriot, who manage more than 30 international hotel brands, including Sheraton, JW Marriott, Ritz-Carlton, St. Regis, Westin, and Le Meridien.

According to the report, investment of around 20 million euros will be put into the new hotel in Opatija, which is set to have 195 rooms, an indoor pool and wellness centre at seafront level, an outdoor pool on the terrace, a fully furnished beach, underground garage, three restaurants, and a champagne and wine bar.

Concept
The hotel will be open all year long with a casino planned to open in the neighbouring building already in March 2018.
