A rather interesting festival in the central Croatian town of Križevci is set to get underway next week…
From 18-22 August the 3rd Festival Granje – Fresh Wood Sculptures – where young Croatian artists create sculptures from branches – will be held in Križevci.
The Fresh Wood Sculptures festival originated after an idea from Križevci sculptor Igor Brkić to make unique sculptures in Croatia, and also to provide a cultural tourist happening in the town during the summer. The festival will showcase handcrafted sculptures made from branches that will later be used to create the first mobile zoo of branches which will decorate city parks.
Entrance to the festival, which will be held at the town’s old army barracks, is free.
