Popular Croatian cello duo Luka Šulić and Stjepan Hauser, better known as 2Cellos, will perform at this year’s FIFA Ballon d’Or Gala…

The FIFA Ballon d’Or Gala is FIFA’s most prestigious awards for the top football players and coaches of the year. The awards gala will held in Zürich on 11 January.

Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo and Barcelona’s Brazilian striker Neymar will be trying to stop Lionel Messi from winning the coveted Golden Ball this year.

The appearance at the awards, which will be beamed across the globe, is another in a string of big performances the pair have made recently.

Signed to Sony Masterworks since 2011, 2Cellos have released three albums and play mainly instrumental arrangements of well-known pop and rock songs.The Croatian duo have featured on several US TV shows, as well as providing music for a Hollywood movie.

Their rendition of AC/DC’s “Thunderstruck” gathered over 10 million views in the first two weeks it was on YouTube.

Along with Hauser and Šulić, British singer Leona Lewis will perform in Zürich at the awards.
