The Central State office for Croats Abroad has awarded 215 scholarships for Croatian language learning in Croatia.

The recipients of the scholarships, which were awarded after a public call went out in May, will attend the classes at the Philosophy Universities in Zagreb (Croaticum), Split (Centre for Croatian studies in the world) and Rijeka (Rijeka Croatian school).

The aim of the scholarships is to help further a better understanding of the Croatian language and culture, as well as to foster the partnership with Croatians abroad and their descendants.

It is hoped that the programme will help provide a stimulant for Croatians abroad and their descendants to return to Croatia.
