20th Open Wine Cellars Day in Istria to be held on 26 May

ISTRIA, 21 May 2019 – Istria is the place to be this weekend for lovers of wine. The 20th anniversary of Open Wine Cellars Day will take place on Sunday, 26 May at over 60 cellars across Istria. 

Open Wine Cellars Day, which has traditionally taken place on the last Sunday in May for two decades, is a day where local winemakers in the area open their cellar doors to the public to give them a behind-the-scenes look into their operations.

Visitors can check out how some of Istria’s internationally acclaimed wine, such as the white Istrian Malvasia, the Muscat of Momjan, and Teran is produced, as well as the best part – sampling a glass or four.

Open Wine Cellars Day, which is organised by Vinistra and the Istria Tourist Board, will be held from 10 am to 7 pm at over 60 wine cellars all over Istria.

Apart from being a celebration of the culture of wine, Open Wine Cellars Day is a relaxed, social event set in the perfect setting of the picturesque Istrian landscape. The wine cellars involved in this year’s Open Wine Cellars Day are detailed in the poster below.
