2020 Women’s Handball Euro: Croatia beats Serbia to win group

After impressive wins against Hungary and world champions the Netherlands, Croatia has now beaten Serbia on Tuesday to win their group at the 2020 European Women’s Handball Championship in Denmark.

Croatia assured top spot in their group after a thrilling 25-24 win over Serbia in Kolding.

Croatia led by one point with Serbia on the attack in the last player but they were unable to find the back of the net. Dora Krsnik with six goals was Croatia’s top scorer, with Camila Micijevic scoring five goals.

Tea Pijevic was impressive again in goal for Croatia, saving seven shots.

The victory was the third straight for the Croatians to give them a maximum of 6 points. Croatia will carry over 4 points to the next phase where Norway, Germany, and Romania await.
