Ivan Rakitić and Sandra Perković have taken top individual honours at the 2015 Croatia Sports Awards…

2015 sportswomen of the year went to discus champion Perković, who collected her fourth award in the last four years, whilst the nation’s leading sports journalists voted Barcelona star Rakitić for the top male award.

Rowing brothers Valent and Martin Sinković won the men’s team of the year award, whilst the Croatian karate team won women’s team of the year.

“This award means to me as much as all the trophies I have won with Barcelona,” said Rakitić, who was unable to be in Zagreb to collect the award.

The awards, organised by leading Croatian daily sports newspaper Sportske Novosti, have been held for the last 64 years in a row.
