2012 Hold Ups Up

There have been 18 bank robberies, 41 post office robberies, 24 jewellery shop robberies and 185 gold pawn shop robberies in Croatia in 2012, a significant increase on the previous year.

In the last seven years there have been 10 people killed during robberies of financial institutions; three security guards, three robbers, three people from the public and one policeman.

As a result the Ministry of Internal Affairs are set to introduce a new law to give further protection to financial institutions.
