16 Most Unusual Croatian Contests


Miss Goat Croatia Contest

Croatia has a number of interesting celebrations, festivals and contests. Some are more odd than others – ‘Miss Toes’, ‘Best Joint Roller’ and ‘Nicest Truck’ for starters. Portal Telegram.hr have published a list of the ’16 Most Unusual Contests in Croatia’. Here is their selection:

1. Most Prominent Rural Woman Contest
Opened to all Croatian women between 25-65 who live in rural areas

2. Miss Internet Contest
Easy to enter – you just need to post your photo and apply on the website, which the public then judge

3. Best Joint Roller Contest
Again easy to enter – just send in a video of yourself in action to the organisers


4. Miss Toes Contest
Held in Zlarin last August, this contest judges the prettiest toes

5. Miss Snaša Contest
Held in the Slavonia region, girls dressed in national costumes of the region are judged – it is not a classic beauty contest but more a search for the most ideal, positive, worthy woman

6. Best Kids Contest
Parents can enter their kids into this competition by sending photos and details to the organisers

7. Best Croatian Island Lamb
Lambs from Croatia’s islands are cooked and tasted to find a winner in this contest


8. Mrs Croatia Contest
A contest to find the most beautiful married woman in the country

9. Best Looking Mixed Breed Dog Contest
Held in Slavonski Brod, this contest judges the best looking mixed breed dog

10. Best Nurse Contest
Organised by the Croatian Paitents Association, this contest has been running for the last 8 years in Croatia

11. Best Secretary Contest
Best Secretary in Croatia contest has been running since 1996 and is organised by the Croatian Secretaries Association

12. Coolest Room in Student Dorm Contest
Organised by a local portal, this is a contest to find the coolest room at the student dorm ‘Stjepan Radić’ in Zagreb

13. Best Agricultural Store in Croatia Contest
A contest to find the most well stocked store selling agricultural equipment in the country

14. Miss Goat Contest
A beauty pageant to find the best looking goat in Croatia has been held for a number of years now


15. Best Truck Contest
Organised by Teretna-vozila.com, the search is on every year to find the nicest truck in the country

16. Most Beautiful Backyard Contest
Held in a number of small towns such as Labin, Našice and Đakovo, this contest judges the best backyards and well kept gardens and courtyards
