ZAGREB, April 16 (Hina) – A total of 10,000 tonnes of construction and demolition waste and rubble have been collected from the streets of Zagreb since the 22 March strong earthquake which took one life.

The construction waste of this kind has been collected from over 600 locations by the city’s waste management workers and other services.

The city administration’s department for zoning and construction reported on Wednesday that half of those locations had been in the very centre of Zagreb, which is in the upper town and downtown Zagreb.

Local firefighting services are still intensively engaged in removing parts of the quake-damaged structures that could fall.
