10,000 Public Sector Workers Face The Axe

Croatia’s Minister of Transport Sinisa Hajdas Doncic has painted a bleak picture for the nation’s public sector workers.
Speaking at a round-table on Tuesday in Zagreb dedicated to public sector restructuring, Hajdas Doncic said that until the middle of 2014 more than 10,000 workers will be made redundant in the public sector.

The state-owned companies that would see the most cuts would be Croatian Railways, Croatian Motorways, Croatia Airlines and Croatian Post said the Minister. Around 3,000 had already lost their jobs in the public sector since May 2011.
