10 stunning photos from Croatia finalists for 70th WMO calendar

7 September 2019 – Ten stunning photos shot in Croatia have been shortlisted for the special 70th edition of the World Meteorological Organization’s (WMO) calendar. 

The World Meteorological Organization celebrates its 70th anniversary in 2020 and once again they have organised a calendar competition, inviting photographers from all over the world to submit their entries. 

“We are looking for high-quality and artistic photographs of the amazing beauty and power of our weather and our environment, which, illustrate the theme of World Meteorological Day 2020,” WMO said. 

More than 1,100 entries were received and the competition has been narrowed down to just 75 photos, 10 of which were shot in Croatia, Pun kufer writes. 

A public vote ends next week before WMO jury will the final selection, based on a combination of the votes, artistic flair, imagination and geographical balance.
