Young Croatian Architects Win In New York

A group of young Croatian architects from the capital Zagreb have won first prize in the community design section at the international competition Gowanus by Design: Water Works.

Tamara Maric, Branko Palic, Ana Ranogajec, Kresimir Renic and Josip Zaninovic beat off over 150 other projects from students from over 20 countries with their Flood Courts Gowanus entry.

Gowanus by Design: Water Works is a design and planning competition focusing on the post-industrial development of a contaminated site in the Gowanus canal in Brooklyn, New York, and challenges young architects to rethink how a new community resource can become an agent for remediation within a diverse urban context.
