World Award: Croatian Newspaper Collects “Best Use Of Facebook Award”

Croatian media brand 24sata has been awarded at the prestigious XMA Cross Media Awards held in Frankfurt, Germany. 24sata collected 2nd prize in the category “Best use of Facebook by a newspaper”. 24sata was second behind British newspaper The Guardian and ahead of 3rd placed French newspaper Le Parisien.

The awards jury said the Croatian portal done an excellent job with their important social media and commented how 24sata on Facebook in just one hour on Sunday received “205 likes” and 49 comments.

“Facebook is now an indispensable communications platform. We actively use it to get even closer to our readers, offering them the content they’re interested in,” said Bojan Rodik, community manager at 24sata who was in Germany with Matejka Paladin, manager of 24sata’s digital edition, to collect the award.

“To be in the company of newspaper giants The Guardian and Le Parisien is a big honour for us. I am proud of the whole team, and this award is confirmation of the hard work that we put in to build a community around 24sata, added Paladin.
