West Ham Chasing Croatian Striker

Croatia striker Nikica Jelavic (27) could be leaving Goodison Park at the end of the season and heading down south to London side West Ham, according to British paper the Mirror.

The Everton marksmen, who enjoyed a successful first season netting 11 times in just 16 games after transferring from Glasgow Rangers for £5.5m, has only found the back of the net just once in his last 15 appearances and only 3 times in his last 25 Premier League matches and has quickly become out-of-favour with bosses at the Merseyside club.

The Mirror say that West Ham are eyeing the Croatian striker as a ‘cut price alternative to Liverpool’s Andy Carroll’. Rumors are rife that Jelavic is on big Sam Allardyce’s shopping list and they are monitoring his situation at Everton. West Ham failed in their attempt to sign Jelavic before he went to Everton from Rangers.
