UEFA Stop Croatia’s Mostar Friendly

A friendly warm up match between Croatia and Zrinjski Mostar scheduled for 1 June has been stopped by UEFA from going ahead, reports 24sata.info.

According to the report, Croatia, who will prepare in Medjugorje for their upcoming World Cup qualifier against Scotland on 7 June in Zagreb, were scheduled to play the Zrinjski as part of their build up before UEFA got wind of it.

UEFA have sent the Bosnia and Herzegovina football federation a letter explaining that they do not have permission to hold the friendly match between Croatian and Zrinjski on 1 June in Mostar. UEFA require 60 days notice of any friendly matches which will be played in another country. Croatia assembled in Split on Monday before making their way to Medjugorje to continue preparations.
