Tourist Operators Concerned About a Quiet May

Bol_na_Bracu_-_Zlatni_ratTourism industry workers in Croatia are concerned that the month of May could be a lot quieter than usual…

This year, with Easter falling on 20 and 21 April, there are no religious holidays observed in the month of May, and hoteliers are concerned that the lack of public holidays might result in empty hotels at what is typically the start of the tourist season on Croatia’s coast. Croatian tourism operators have just returned from one of Germany’s largest travel fairs, where the majority of Croatia’s tourists originate from, and have warned their German partners that unlike last year, all the religious holidays will be observed in June this year. The result has been soft bookings thus far for May for some of large hotels on the coast, writes Slobodna Dalmacija.
