Tina Marić Wins Gold at European Karate Championships

The Croatian karate team had a successful European Championships in Limassol, winning one gold, two silver and one bronze medal on the final day of competition.

Tina Marić is the European U-61 champion, beating Switzerland’s Marion Franzosi, Bosnia and Herzegovina’s Ivona Čavar and Thailand’s Viola Lallo on the way to meeting Perković in the final. Marić did not lose a point in the final to claim gold 1-0.

In other female competition at the championships, Sara Siddiqui won the silver medal in the U-55kg category.

In the men’s division Filip Barač won silver in the over 84kg category, and Enes Garibović won bronze in the U-84kg category. Croatia return from Cyprus with one gold, four silver and three bronze medals.
