Swedish FA Pay Tribute To Late Croatian Keeper

The Swedish Football Federation have paid tribute to Croatian goalkeeper Ivan Turina who dies tragically in his sleep in Stockholm earlier in the week.

The former Dinamo Zagreb stopper passed away in Sweden where he was playing his football for AIK. Doctors are unsure the exact reasons why his heart stopped. Last night during a match between Malmo and Norrkoping the match was bought to a standstill in the 27th minute as a photo of Ivan appeared on the scoreboard. The crowd rose to their feet to give the standing ovation.

A match between Dinamo Zagreb and Sweden’s AIK will be played in Stockholm in Turina’s honour on 13 May. All Swedish league matches will start with a minute silence today.
