The award will be presented at the City Nation Place conference on 5 November in London. Awards also include Best Citizen Engagement, Best Communication Strategy and Place Brand of the Year.

CTB Director Ratomir Ivičić says that his marketing team capitalised quickly on the fact that this year’s NFL final, the most watched sporting event in the States, featured two coaches with Croatian heritage.

“The effect of the mini campaign was really good which this nomination proves. I would like to thank all those who worked on the campaign, who very creatively in a short period of time created a significant promotion of our country,” Ivičić said.

The ad ho Twitter campaign, which saw excellent results in America, saw the Tourist Board put up a free trip to Croatia to the winning coach.
