Split Airport Welcomes 2 Millionth Passenger for First Time

Split Airport in the heart of the Dalmatian coast continues to break records in 2016…

Tatiana Kremen from the Ukraine become Split Airport’s 2 millionth passenger on Monday, setting a new record for the airport in the process. It is the first time that 2 million passengers had passed through the airport in a calendar year.

The previous record was in 2015 when 1,955,400 passengers passed through the airport. By the time the year ends a record 2.3 million passengers are expected.

Kremen, who arrived in Croatia with business colleagues, was greeted by officials when she arrived on Monday and was presented with an all expenses paid weekend for two at Split’s Hotel Park, two return flights to any destination from Split Airport as well as a gift pack of local products.

Split Airport is set to be expanded with a bigger terminal with 4 jetways planned bringing the total airport capacity to 3,5 million passengers.
